Work continues on the new Norman Economic Development Strategic Plan. Market Street presented the community assessment to the steering committee in December. The assessment will be made public after the committee approves in January. Highlights included showing a decrease in targeted populations, lower than expected education levels, higher than expected private job growth, and lagging wages. The next meeting is on Jan. 18 at which time potential targeted industries will be discussed.
